Smuggling Veggies into Kids’ Food

When my little one was first introduced to food, I have no problem feeding him vegetables like carrot, pumpkin and corn but since his introduction to self-feeding, it’s been an endless battle.

I have had to learn the art of veggie smuggling and how to disguise the ‘yucky’ foods. This has been harder than it sounds because the meals also need to be family-friendly i.e. enjoyed by all. Nonetheless, persistence pays off and I’m happy to note that my little one has been eating hidden vegetables lately, which feels like a real triumph.

Some of my favourite family meals to make now include spaghetti bolognese, chicken and vegetable pie, corn fritters, homemade pizza and zucchini slice, as pictured below. I even managed to sneak some red capsicum into that one.
